Here's one such example & I think it's pretty cool. It's funny he's holding a Campbell's Soup Can. Also, shown below, is a video featuring the largest "Art Army" action figure yet. He stands about 39" tall with 16 posable body part pieces. He's has removable accessories of a Super 8 Video Camera, a Campbell's Soup Can, & Sunglasses...very cool!</span><br><br /><center><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JhQSwXn93M4&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JhQSwXn93M4&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></center>Tommy!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14077788010426744104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34735338.post-23921879616163292262007-12-08T22:56:00.000-06:002008-12-08T20:34:17.995-06:00Vintage LP Record Albums with Andy Warhol Artwork<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdNgUxmExYhmZk2ozHrPyb7V8WIv2PHI0zxPMSAf9BzFRuFgAZKdO6XwePKhW0VK3Bykgf1i1HnVi99eLEy9V3UOIvsPVvuXCsgYXdZHSbKdMvzG5Dq1zzdDXcVPGynhesPSx_xQ/s1600-h/records.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdNgUxmExYhmZk2ozHrPyb7V8WIv2PHI0zxPMSAf9BzFRuFgAZKdO6XwePKhW0VK3Bykgf1i1HnVi99eLEy9V3UOIvsPVvuXCsgYXdZHSbKdMvzG5Dq1zzdDXcVPGynhesPSx_xQ/s400/records.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5141836416034651650" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:verdana;" >In music history there have been many different album covers featuring Andy Warhol artwork. Shown up above are just a few examples. The one of Count Basie is actually quite RARE. It used commercial art that Andy did in the 1950's. The one with the Rolling Stones Love You Live art was specially commissioned by Mick Jagger. The banana cover is for a band called the Velvet Underground which was owned by Warhol. This image is practically an icon & has been reproduced on hundreds of T-Shirts, The last one with Paul Anka's portrait was just that, a portrait. Mr. Anka hired Warhol to do a few paintings of him & later he chose this one to be an album cover. One of his gimmicks is to appropriate images from famous art masterpieces & blend them into his own artwork. Here's a few examples. If you look at his 3 paintings here you'll be sure to see examples from Art History. There's Marcel Duchamp, Piet Mondrian, Mark Rothko, Pablo Picasso, Matisse, Dali, & of course, Andy Warhol. I think it would be cool to have one framed flat for the wall. The next photo is a pair of "Soup Can" designer shoes made just a few years ago. Here's what it looked like.</span>Tommy!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14077788010426744104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34735338.post-24609358123435588262007-11-28T08:51:00.000-06:002008-12-08T20:34:19.856-06:00Wacky Warhol Wallpaper Wednesday!!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGHzqZKQTF8SwcVRF74xoAMc6Cs2Xwd6cz_Z08HgAOmTekasLoWcTK41_EymgBDcdY0qO6AT41VSSc9k4LdDO8XdcthrNsZtzwFfJgmKgISnDbxJAOCO9RdrwjdI7JWdPbokKIrA/s1600-h/wallpaper_green2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGHzqZKQTF8SwcVRF74xoAMc6Cs2Xwd6cz_Z08HgAOmTekasLoWcTK41_EymgBDcdY0qO6AT41VSSc9k4LdDO8XdcthrNsZtzwFfJgmKgISnDbxJAOCO9RdrwjdI7JWdPbokKIrA/s400/wallpaper_green2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137907209592924354" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGlDjzDPCZMnSvDiOiswQkDTkadlwgYsfeF8GZBVHFJOWfho99s9LAxTKC_CwJxC0o1KPsvIiV_Xvz2CVqChZKh-mEo9upWwevruMSmNSJrRwXEGQzjnOy0WisZTlwOfZEXfOjcg/s1600-h/wallpaper_museum.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGlDjzDPCZMnSvDiOiswQkDTkadlwgYsfeF8GZBVHFJOWfho99s9LAxTKC_CwJxC0o1KPsvIiV_Xvz2CVqChZKh-mEo9upWwevruMSmNSJrRwXEGQzjnOy0WisZTlwOfZEXfOjcg/s400/wallpaper_museum.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137907115103643826" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:verdana;" >At another blog of mine I post Desktop Wallpapers EVERY Wednesday so I thought I would do the same thing here too! Except, here, I'm gonna call it "Wacky Warhol Wallpaper Wednesday"!! You can use them to brighten your boring desktop or use as a background in a MySpace layout. The 1st one is a variation of the Green Self-Portrait Painting showing Andy in his famous fright-wig. I used this picture before but it's a little different. The 2nd one is a photo of the view in the foyer waiting room at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When you enter the front door of this establishment the HUGE Yellow Self-Portrait is the very 1st thing you see!</span>Tommy!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14077788010426744104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34735338.post-50967790001225301632007-11-28T08:23:00.001-06:002007-11-28T09:07:04.862-06:00Video: Andy Warhol & Sonny Liston ( Famous Boxer ) Do a TV Commercial For Braniff International Airlines<span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:verdana;" >In a previous post I showed the magazine print ad for Braniff International Airlines showing Andy Warhol & famous boxer Sonny Liston together. Well, here's the actual TV Commercial. It's kind of well known that they had to shoot this many times because Warhol was so nervous he screwed his lines up but notice that Liston doesn't have ANY speaking part at all, funny! It's also funny when Warhol says, "When ya got it, flaunt it".</span><br /><br /><center><object height="355" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pFRWg2y0qDY&rel=1"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pFRWg2y0qDY&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" height="355" width="425"></embed></object></center>Tommy!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14077788010426744104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34735338.post-29634714866121069762007-11-26T01:49:00.000-06:002008-12-08T20:34:20.185-06:00Brand New Products: Wild & Wacky Andy Warhol Items<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXuisMX0Pq8NyET2-TR-5X0eq7ut3MN5wdHkDs7P70kDqS1sOD9zuPxlHSFeIjuMUR0U-12UmR3-agFWhgTHRAOJFICcVYR8bg4-GvTaFKdOQmPaUrbSVVl3NyXH3mao9N4kNZNQ/s1600-h/snowboards.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXuisMX0Pq8NyET2-TR-5X0eq7ut3MN5wdHkDs7P70kDqS1sOD9zuPxlHSFeIjuMUR0U-12UmR3-agFWhgTHRAOJFICcVYR8bg4-GvTaFKdOQmPaUrbSVVl3NyXH3mao9N4kNZNQ/s400/snowboards.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137056445291063122" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOMcaftD3mJ5FOF8WjHalJ9WkE7LoCGNkbEOYgKslgImZP2jpqTUhxJm6GPDc0FM8oz65qza14n91pUp-URlRa89r8SLu6jhfNWM75fYHw4Ur5B92w6i-fBXxBuGEnA6rNsRNAfA/s1600-h/harmony.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOMcaftD3mJ5FOF8WjHalJ9WkE7LoCGNkbEOYgKslgImZP2jpqTUhxJm6GPDc0FM8oz65qza14n91pUp-URlRa89r8SLu6jhfNWM75fYHw4Ur5B92w6i-fBXxBuGEnA6rNsRNAfA/s400/harmony.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137056269197403970" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_qHpVM1pGHyFO_3drLxj8VWMPimI5p6ysf-bpqNMsY5kizVvigk7OHM7Orx8oRMMXO6A15ODBEX-CK-ZoPOkp5Is0DUOGJrfly06k-kyPV98gB52sQfAdBikgVcKOhJVGW1Pusg/s1600-h/pepsi_tie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_qHpVM1pGHyFO_3drLxj8VWMPimI5p6ysf-bpqNMsY5kizVvigk7OHM7Orx8oRMMXO6A15ODBEX-CK-ZoPOkp5Is0DUOGJrfly06k-kyPV98gB52sQfAdBikgVcKOhJVGW1Pusg/s400/pepsi_tie.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137056217657796402" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:verdana;" >It's kinda strange how today there's a ton of Warhol-related products being made & a few of them are kinda weird or wacky! Like these: Here's a Set of 5 different real-life SNOWBOARDS that features Warhol's work on the bottom. There's the "Do-It-Yourself Flowers" painting, an Electric Chair from the Art Print Series, a Last Supper variation, a 1960's Flowers Painting, & my favorite, an Andy Warhol Self-Portrait. These are actually pretty cool & I think they would be great to display as art on the wall. The next item is a very small plastic-figure of Andy that is sort of ball-shaped, kinda cute really. This is a part of the current "Urban Toy" culture & made by a company named Harmony. They made other "artists" in the series but who cares about them. The last item is kinda funny & elegant all at the same time, ha ha. It's a Fine-Silk Dress Tie with Andy's famous Pop Art graphic of a Pepsi-Cola Bottle Cap. I haven't really researched these ties that hard but I'll bet ya that they did one with Campbell's Soup Cans, ha ha!</span>Tommy!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14077788010426744104noreply@blogger.com0
